The YMCA Child Care Learning Center offers a pre-school program for those families that do not need care for the entire day, but would like to have their child enrolled in a quality pre-school class.

We have developed instructional goals and objectives that are follow the State of Ohio Pre-School Content Standards, but also include some additional goals such as sign language.  To build strong language and reading skills, we place a strong emphasis on phonics, as well as a quality hands on math and science curriculum.  We feel we have a program that is well rounded and will prepare children for all aspects of kindergarten.

Our preschool children participate in an annual Christmas Program, as well as a Graduation Ceremony when they are ready for Kindergarten.

We have Parent/Teacher conferences, where the child’s evaluations and progress are discussed.

Our Pre School Only Classes are as follows:

• • Pre Kindergarten:    Monday through Friday   9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  This class is for those children that are definitely attending kindergarten the following school year.
• • 4yr/5yr olds:   Monday, Wednesday, Friday   12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  Children must be 4 years old by August 1st of that school year.
• • 3yr/4yr olds:      Tuesday & Thursday    12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  Children must be 3 years old by August 1st of that school year.

All children enrolled in our pre school program will receive a Family Membership to the YMCA.

We also have a pre-school only program available for our Early Learners Class (16 mos to 3yrs) on a limited enrollment. Please call the center office for information and enrollment availability.
